So for the past two days I have been on an increadable journey at Disney World. If you have never been to Disney World let me know and I will find a way to get you there. Now if you don’t know me or my family, we are kind of theme park junkies. We’ve been all over the US traveling to different theme parks. On these trips I really have to practice patience because I am the type of person who likes get somewhere and go, but my family is the type that likes to walk around and discuss what we are going to do, then do it. Thats great that we discuss and all, but by the time the whole process is over it’s time for the park to close. So, at the end of the day we are tired and are feet hurt, and when look back at all we did that day we realize we really didn’t do that much, well except walk. Have you ever gone to a place, whether it be a theme park the grocery store, or anywhere really, and done nothing but walk around? I’m telling you just walking around can get you exhausted, but yesterday we were at the Animal Kingdom, which is awesome by the way, and we were dead tired from all the walking we did the day before, then we rode Expedition Everest, which is awesome as well, and when we got off our adrenaline was pumping and all of a sudden we weren’t tired anymore, and we were ready to ride more and walk more. It’s funny how you can be dead tired and then all of a sudden be pumped and ready to go for more. So you know how God usually uses trips to open your eyes and teach you things, and help you to realize things, well as we were walking around trying to figure out what we were going to do next it started to occur to me that I was doing the exact same thing with my faith. So many times I find myself just walking around with my faith trying to figure out what to do with it. Its like I’m in this theme park with access to all these things but all I do is walk around and try to figure out what to do, and by then time I figure it out its time for the park to close. There are so many things that need to be done in our community, state, country, and world, that a lot of times it can be overwhelming. Sometimes it can be so overwhelming that what we waste the majority of our time and energy trying to figure out how we can meet one of those many needs instead of just picking one and doing it. See, you may be the one who has tired feet from walking around all day trying to figure out what to do, then you just decide to pick a need and meet it, and all of a sudden, when it’s over, your adrenaline gets pumping because you just did something awesome, and then you are ready to go and do more, and it doesn’t matter if your feet hurt because that is now the least of your concerns. Just imagine what would happen if we all just quit walking around. Imagine what would happen if we, as a body of christ, quit being so picky about the needs WE wanted to meet, and instead started to focus on the needs that OTHER PEOPLE needed us to meet. The more time we spend walking around, the less time we spend riding rides, which is the real reason we go to the theme park in the first place. I am going to try to quit “walking around” with my faith, and actually do something with it, and thats my challenge for you, “Stop walking around in a park full of awesome arcade games and rides trying to figure out which one is the best and just get on a ride and ride it. later

October 24, 2008 by wesfulghumSo this blogging thing…..I don’t really understand it but hopefully this will be a a place where you can get some insightful thoughts through my daily experiences. Today was a little be on the stressful side, school for one thing and work for another. I got to make my first series artwork for TrueNorth Church today…that’s where i work by the way( oh yea, and these are my personal thoughts and in no way do they reflect the thoughts or views of truenorth church) now thats out of the way yea, I got to make my first series artwork, if you don’t know what that is then you need to come check out TrueNorth sunday mornings at 9:30 and 11:11 in the North Augusta High School gym. I haven’t ever made anything that was going to be handed out to hundreds of people, hope everything turns out ok. Over the last few months God has been teaching me things about people and relationships. It’s crazy to look back to when you first met someone that you are really close to now because you had no idea that just hanging out and being in conversation with that person would lead to a life changing relationship. We all have those people in our lives, think about it, who is that in your life? Can you imagine your life without that person now? It’s crazy to see in hindsight how God has been preparing the way for you through different relationships by teaching you things and opening doors through different people you come in contact with. Be aware of the different relationships you have, and value them and learn from them. Later.
